Tips and Techniques Wednesday -Pleating Paper

Hi there!

It's Wednesday again, and that means I have a tip to share with you!   Toay i thought I'd do a little demo on pleating paper.

To start you will need a strip of paper in your desired width, that is 12 inches long.  I am using a 1 x 12 piece.  You will also need a scoring tool or a scoring blade for your paper trimmer.

Now you will need to score at the following measurements.....

1/2", 1", 2", 2.5", 3.5" , 4", 5", 5.5",6.5", 7",8", 8.5", 9.5", 10", 11", 11.5"
Next, fold along the score lines folding each 1/2 inch measure behind the 1 inch measures.  So you get a sort of zig zag effect.
Now you can use adhesive or stitching to secure your pleats.  Your 12" length will make a 4" pleat.
Here is a front view for you.
And the finished product on a card.  You can made a 12" length by aligning 3 sections up together if you want to run a length of pleated paper along a layout.

And that's it!  It's that easy!

Thanks for popping into the blog today to see what we have going on!
