Water Brush Tutorial

Hi there!

I am sharing a fun tutorial with my friends at ScrapMuch? today, demo-ing a fun way to add colour to stamped images with a water brush.

This technique is super easy, anyone can do it!

You will need a few simple supplies, an ink pad or two (any water based ink will do) a water brush, and an image stamped with permanent ink like Stazon.

Your water brush has a chamber that you will fill with tap water prior to using.  With your ink pad closed, give it a gentle squeeze, this will put a small amount of ink onto the lid that you can work with (as shown above).

Now, squeeze the centre of your brush to let a little water out of the chamber to moisten the bristles, then use the tip of the brush to pick up some ink from the ink pad lid.

The fun parts starts now, just fill in the blanks with colour, there are not tricks or techniques, just paint.... so fun! You can work from the centre out if you want the edges a little lighter, or go over a section two or three times to darken the image.  Be careful to let the ink dry in between coats.

You can use a baby wipe to clean the tip of your brush between colours, or squeeze a little water through the chamber and wipe it off.

 Pick up a second colour....

... and add it to your image.

I used my image to create this little tag, along with a few bits and pieces from my  'junk' drawer.
