Therm O Web Sticky Dots Tutorial

Hi there!

Laura here sharing a tutorial with you today, I was recently given a package of ThermOWeb Sticky Dots for Die Cuts to play with, if you haven't seen them, this is what the packaging looks like.

I hadn't used this product before, have you?  I was anxious to give it a try though.

Turns out they are super simple to use, check it out.

you start by removing the waxy cover, from the sticky back paper.

Place your die cuts onto a section of the adhesive paper.

Lay the waxy top cover back over your elements.

And give them a little rub with your finger, pressing the die cuts into the adhesive.

Now remove your die cuts .

This is what they should look like on the back - loads of adhesive on them!  You can rub off the little bits that over hand your die cut simply with your fingers.

Now place them onto your page or card. this is super wonderful for skinny elements that regular adhesive would be too wide for.  Plus the entire die cut is stuck firmly to your project.

I also found out that this adhesive holds sequins pretty great too!

Here is a little photo of my finished card.

I am thinking that we could cut this adhesive into strips and apply glitter to the strips to embellish a project.  What do you think?

Supply List - ThermOWeb Sticky Dots for Die Cuts; We R Memory Keepers patterned paper and ephemera; American Crafts Cardstock; Staedtler pen.

Hi there and happy Friday!

Will you be crafting this weekend?  We hope so and have a fun sketch for your to play along with.

And here is your Team B inspiration!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until May 29th, at midnight to participate in any of this month's sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  You may take some artistic license with your adaptation of the sketches, however if you choose to use a double page sketch for a single page layout you may only enter once per sketch, not once per side.

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)  Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!

*note - If you are playing along using Flickr the team will no longer be leaving comments, due to changes in Flickr policies and passwords.  However, we will be checking out your entries for sure and you are definitely eligible for the prize draw. Washi Tape Dispenser Tip

Hi there!

Laura  here  with  a super easy tip for you today, which has the added bonus of recycling, too!

Tape an empty tape dispenser.

And instead of throwing it out, do this.

Recycling, practical and so pretty, too!  If you are super clever you could trace and cut out the label onto a piece of coordinating patterned paper - or white cardstock covered with the Washi tape that is in the dispenser.

:) Stay crafty!

Hazel and Ruby alpha masks tutorial with Laura

Hi there!

Laura here today sharing a tutorial using a Hazel and Ruby alpha mask,to show you how they can be used and just how fabulous they are!

Back in March when I created my April reveal for ScrapMuch?, I ordered this set, knowing that I would want to use them on my mini album.  FYI There are many fonts available.

These masks work great with a variety of mediums, I decided to used chalk paint and distress ink for this project, which is going to be the cover of the mini album.

I started out by placing the alphas needed onto the area of my page that I wanted to mask off, they are adhesive.

Then I painted over the entire page with chalk paint.

Next, using a mask and distress ink, I added another layer of colour to my page.

You can see that I was sort of strategic about where I added the ink.

Finally I carefully peeled off my alphas, once the page was dry - which really doesn't take any time at all with chalk pain or distress ink.

Now you can get a feel for how they work.

My masks came clean quite easily with a baby wipe.  I then stuck them back into the package for future use.  As with most masks, they can be reused over and over again.

Here is my finished cover page, you can see that I traced around my title with a black Sharpie for a little more definition, and then embellished it.

You can order a set too by contacting Elaine and letting her know how much you love them!  Phone 1-905-730-2673
