Sketch-y Firday with Team B
Hi there!
We have a brand new sketch to share today and Team B is here to share their amazing interpretations of it!
Now for your inspiration!
Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules. Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw
for our monthly
prize. You have until September 29th, at midnight to participate in any of September's sketch
challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that
date!
If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.) Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!
*note - If you are playing along using Flickr the team will no longer be leaving comments, due to changes in Flickr policies and passwords. However, we will be checking out your entries for sure and you are definitely eligible for the prize draw. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Organizational DIY Tutorial
Hi there!
I have a fun little organizational DIY to share today, that also includes a bit of recycling! How can we not love that, right? And it has the added bonus of using chalkboard paint! Am I the only one with that addiction?
To start with you will need your chalkboard paint and a foam brush, plus several smallish recycled jar lids. Jam jar lids are a good size, but really you can use any size you like.
No go ahead and start painting, the firm coat will look a little rough.
After 2 or 3 coats it will look great! Let dry about an hour between coats. When you have your desired coverage, let dry for 24 hours.
Now it's time to condition your mini chalkboard, go ahead and rub it all over with your chalk and erase. It is now in perfect chalking condition!
The last step is to punch a hole in the lid. You can do this with a nail and hammer or by using a drill, whatever suits your fancy. It is rally not hard to pierce these little lids.
Now string it up with your favourite twine, chalk on your label and you are set to go. How is that for super easy?

Stamped Background Tutorial
Hi there!
I am sharing a tutorial today, giving some information about how I created the background on this page using a stamping technique.
I started out creating this page by adding distress ink to the background, this is a technique that I have shared before and your can see it here. The only difference with this page is that I tried it on a patterned paper base this time. BTW, it works just as well! You can see I used a brownish colour ink to "grunge" up my page a bit.
I wanted to add a bit more rustic appeal to my page, and give my base a bit more depth. So I decided to stamp on it as well.
I am using a large background stamp, because it has a wood grain look that I was going for, but you can use any type of background stamp you like.
I inked up my stamp with a darker distress ink than I used in the previous step.
Then I stamped small portions of the stamp, in a few semi strategic areas onto my base paper. You can see I am not using a block for this technique, you really do not need to, you get a bit of a looser more random look this way.
Now I will share my boo boo with you... I strongly dislike the hard edge that happened here. Definitely not what I was going for. Thankfully the rest of it turned out as I had hoped. Try to avoid this if you can.
Thankfully, I could hide it ;)
So glad you joined me today!
