Inspiration on Thursday with a feature!

Playing with Punches - Tutorial with Danie

Hi there!

Our DT member Danie  is sharing a fun tip with you today, she is encouraging you to look at your punches a little differently to get more bang for your buck!

She started with this punch from EK Success:

Which creates this shape:

Danie has created a short video to show you how she utilized both the positive and negative cuts from her punched pieces:



Here is a still shot of the cork pieces that Danie cut from her sheet of cork:

Instructions:

Step 1:   Simply hold your scrapbooking foam cork and punch out corner cuts (minimum of 2 times - but depending on how many you require) - I wanted 2

Step 2:  Remove the centers / leftovers from the punched out cork.  I used my fingernails but you could snip them using scissors.

Step 3:  Design your card /Place them on your card

Step 4:  Embellish your card / or layout

Our Spring 2015 Retreat dates have been revealed! That's right!!  We're already thinking about spring and our retreat dates have been announced!!  If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away, with luxurious accommodations, amazing meals all while enjoying your love of scrapbooking, then our scrapbooking retreats are for you!!

We have two weekend retreats available.  

March 6th-8th 2015 (in the Grand Ballroom)

&  

March 27th-29th 2015 (in the Carriage House)  

Our scrapbooking retreats are held at the luxurious Elm Hurst Inn and Spa in Ingersoll, ON.  The cost for the weekend includes 2 nights accommodation, all meals and 24 hour access to the scrapbooking space.  The weekend begins on Friday at noon and ends Sunday at 4:00pm.  We offer several classes throughout the weekend for an additional fee.  Our store will be onsite.  

If you wish to extend your pampering to include spa services, there is a 15% discount for our attendees.

Tinsel & Company with Laura

Hi there!

Laura here with some projects to share with you today, I was given some goodies from Teresa Collins' Tinsel & Company line, I just love the mix of reds and golds, just like my Christmas tree at home!

Santa's Girls

I started  out with this page, I do not often scrapbook our pets and perhaps I should do it more - knowing our sweet Mollie will not be with us this holiday season made me want to document this memory all the more.

 Yes the chipboard elements and sequins are a must!

Trimming the Tree

I loved this gold paper with foil dots and wanted to feature it on my page.  The chipboard ornaments were so pretty and I enjoyed created a shaker ornament to add to them.

Christmas Washi tapes and gold dotted paper just scream the holiday season to me!

Believe

Another puppy page, as you can see, wrapping up those memories, finally.
I pulled out some of the greys in the collection for this page to help make my little guy pop - seeing as he is all dressed in grey.  I also used a bit of paint and mist on the background on this layout.

 I always like finding fun ways to use the cut apart 3 x 4 cards, they showcase nicely on this page.

Then I created this card....

... which features another shaker ornament and an array of Washi tape.

And this ornament using a Maya Road tin pie plate that I had in my stash.

... it also features a shaker element and some great chipboard.
