And now for the Guest Designer position winner.  This person will be responsible for creating a sample with our  October 18th sketch. Our winner for this month is Wendy R. We look forward to having you join us!  Here is a sample of her art...

Congratulations Wendy R,  please email me  to get all of the information you will need to be our October Guest Designer.

And now on to new news!  Here is this week's sketch.....

Sorry no double this month, I will have one next month for sure!  Here is a sample that Elaine created to share with you.

Love that she managed to squeeze in another photo!

Now it's your turn!  Play along and share it with us!

Here is a run down of the rules.  We are offering a little prize to one lucky scrapper that participates in at least 2 of this month's 4 sketches.  Just link up your creations at the bottom of each Sketch-y Friday post, all qualifying scrappers will be entered into a random draw for a prize.  Only one entry per sketch please.  You have until Wednesday October 30th at midnight to participate in any of October's sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  But remember, you must play along with 2 different sketches for a chance to win!  (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees. )

Also, we are launching something new!  Would you like to be one of our sketch layout designers?  Each month we are going to offer one lucky participant the opportunity to create the reveal sample for one of our sketches!  So if you are interested in being considered, play along with at least two sketches and while you are linking up your creations add "GDT" after your name.  The only stipulation is that you must have a blog.

Thanks again to all of our participants, keep joining us and linking up as we love seeing what you create!

Now getting creating!   And thanks for visiting!

Little Fancy Pants Paper Bags - a Tutorial

Hi there!

I have a tutorial to sharetoday.  I am a fan of all things Fancy Pants,  all of their latest lines have really spoken to me,  I cannot get enough of their papers or embellies.  But I noticed that some of the embellies do not sell as well as others.  Specifically the little paper bags, like these:

Now personally I find these darling.  But I know some of you struggle with them, so I thought I would give you a few ideas.

With Halloween coming up, this bag on a card front makes for a great little place to stash a treat.

On this layout snippet, you can see that I used the little bag to hold my journal tag.

And on this layout the bag just provides another pattern and texture to my layout... two things I love a lot of on my pages.

I hope these tips help you look at these sweet little bags in a new way.

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Hauntings Reveal

Hi there!

I have my monthly reveal to share this morning!   I was given the Happy Haunting line by Carta Bella to play with, and I had a lot of fun with it.  If you are into texture like me, you will love the weight and feel of this paper, it is really great quality, and includes some fun patterns.

It is a little hard to tell in this photo but this background paper is covered with little bugs.  I added some texture paste in a very random andmessy way to play up the eerie feeling of my layout.
I am always amazed at how much fun I can have with stickers now and how many fun ways there are to use them.  There was a time I had sworn off of stickers, but now I believe they are a great addition to a kit.  I guess I have learn that I can give them depth or alter them so now I find them more fun.

I actually stitched on this layout with my new machine and loved it, but you cannot even see it in the photos, ha just my luck! I added a piece of grey cardstock to this layout and framed it with one of the great patterns.

This layout is my favourite, I really love how it turned out and I love the way the patterns play off of each other.  The hand stitched border really pops, too.

These little pumpkins we created using a Silhouette cut file that I made.  I love them with the layered patterns, so fun!

Since I was having so much fun, I decided to create this altered canvas, it has been way too long since I have created an altered ite,.
It is simple but whimsical, more layered pumpkins and a monogram, too!
