A Little Blog Candy - CLOSED
Hello ladies!
This past weekend we hosted a day crop, if you were lucky enough to be able to join us, you'll know it was a great day! Now, those of us hosting didn't get much scrapping accomplished but we had such a great time mingling with all the ladies that attended, checking out their creations, lending a helping hand, making sure everyone was fueled up enough to 'work' hard, and seeing that your day of cropping met your expectations! We can't wait to do it all over again and we hope you'll be able to join us.
At the crop we announced that there will be some changes to the blog, and more frequent postings. We suggested to pop by to see what we are up to, more often. That we will have fun things posted regularly. We have already started some of these things, such as Sketch-y Friday's and our Inspirational slide show. Well keep on watching because there is going to be more!
Today we are offering a little Blog Candy to get the week started off right!
You don't have to be a crop attendee to win this prize, all of our blog readers are welcome to play along! The contest will be open for two weeks, closing Sunday January 23rd at Midnight. To win you must leave a comment on at least two different posts in the next two weeks Everyone that has left their minimum of two comments will be enter into a random draw for a winner.
Good luck and have fun with it!

Sketch-y Friday
Good morning Scrappers!
I thought we'd try something new this week, I am going to try to post a sketch every Friday for a little inspiration for you all. If you decide to use the sketch and you have a blog, leave us a comment with a link, we'd love to pop over and check it out!
So here is this week's sketch......
As I am very new to digital sketching and not clever enough to use Photoshop or something similar (these programs make for great digital sketches) you will have to use your imagination a little. Typically sketches are done in black, gray and white, to let your creativity flourish. My 'embellishments' will always be in the form of very basic shapes. You will , of course, use anything your heart desires on your layout to make it your own. That's the beauty of sketches! We will be mixing it up and posting single and double page sketches.
Hope you have fun with my sketch and you get to enjoy some scrappy time this weekend. If you are one of the lucky ladies that signed up for the all day crop on Saturday, I will see you there!
Happy Friday,
Laura

And this is my take on it, as you can see I based this week's sketch on one of my designs from the January 1st reveal. (You can click on the sketch and my layout for a larger image if you need to.)

Ribbon Flower Tutorial
Hi there, we thought we'd have a spot for you to check out tips and techniques. If there is one that you have been wanting to learn, please post a comment and we'll investigate doing a tutorial for you!
But for now, here is a technique for a quick and fun ribbon flower.
But for now, here is a technique for a quick and fun ribbon flower.
For this flower you will need about an 8 inch strip of gross grain ribbon with stitching
Gently pull the stitching from one side of the ribbon ( hold on to the opposite end of the stitching so you do not pull it right out of the ribbon).Pull both ends of the stitching and tie them together tightly, in a knot. You will end up with a ribbon curl.Make a coil with your ribbon curl and use a couple of glue dots to tuck under the unfinished ends, as well as hold your coil togetherAdd a button and you're done! Now you have a beautiful flower you can add to any project. Thanks for stopping by to see us!
