Valentine chain - A Tutorial
Hi there1
I have a quick tutorial for you this week, a great Valentine craft to make with the kiddies.... a little knock off on the Christmas paper chain. I found this idea on Pinterest.
First gather up your supplies, you will need 1 sheet of 12 x 12 paper cut down into 1x6 strips and a stapler. (Of course, you can make this longer if you wish.)
Take 2 strips of paper and staple at the bottom.
Now roll the top into the centre and insert 2 more pieces of paper into it, and staple (where my thumb is).
Continue on until you get something like this. That's it as easy as that.... some short one handing from the chandelier would be fun and longer ones swagged along the top of draperies, too.
Thanks for visiting!

Inspiration on Thursday
Hello all!
We have something fun and unique to share with you this week! Elaine was recently asked to create a guest registry for an 80th birthday party. It was to have spaces to for the guests to sign as well as many photos that depict what an amazing life the recipient is enjoying and how much she means to her family. Elaine, decided that given the number of photos and the number of guests coming to the party, that this guest book needed to be in 12 x 12 format. In a beautiful album, that would become a keepsake for the recipient. What a beautiful idea, and she did such an incredible job that I knew you would want to see it, too!
Don't you just love the lined paper theme throughout the album, giving lots of space to add warm wishes.
And the cohesive look, by using the same papers and elements throughout.
I'm sure you will agree that this is beyond gorgeous and a lovely keepsake.
What are you creating this week? Leave us a comment with your blog address (or other link) ... we will be sure to stop by and leave you some love. Also, don't forget you can email anything you wish to share, to me here, to have them shown off on our Thursday blog posts.

Lollipop Tea Light - Tutorial
Hi there!
I have a quick and fun little tutorial to share with you today. I saw this Lollipop Tea Light idea a few years ago, and have been waiting for just the right time to share it.
I think it will make a cute Valentine for your girl friends.
Let's get started.....
You will need a tea light candle, a sucker stick, a clear cellophane bag, ribbons, and washi tape.
Adhere the sucker stick to the back of the tea light candle with washi tape.
No wrap the candle with washi tape. Now pop it into the bag, and the fun begins - you know the part where we make it pretty!
Tie on a tag, so you have somewhere to add a little message ( I created this one using my Silhouette).
Now for a die cut, and / or a button and some twine.
And it's all done and ready for gifting! Wouldn't these also make fun shower favours!

Inspiration on Thursday
Hi there,
We have some fabulous new layouts to share with you this week, I am sure they will inspire you to get your scrap on!
First up, we have a double and single page from Sheri....
This layout features a fun, spring colour scheme with multiple photos of each page.
And this layout shows a fun way to use up scraps or to feature all of your favourite patterns in one spot.
Next up we also have a single page and double page from Sandy.
Sandy has done a great job of embellishing this layout as well as mixing patterns.
This layout is a great example of a good way to feature sequential photos, Keeping papers simple maintains the focus on the pictures.
Thanks again for sharing, ladies !

Faux Stitching with paint - Tutorial
Hi there!
I have a new tutorial to share with you today. I ran across this a few years ago, finally got around to testing it out and thought I`d share it with all of you.
You will need some craft paint, a scrap of cardstock and a Seamstress`tracing wheel. These can be pick up for as little as a few bucks in your notions department or if you have a sewer in the family - borrow one.
First put a line of paint onto your scrap of cardstock, you do not need a lot. I have tried this on a plastic dish (so that there is no waste, but you need something with some give). Now, run your wheel back and forth through the paint a few time so that all of the little tines are covered.
Now, working on your project area, press firmly but not too hard, so that the wheel rolls all the way around. You can see that it leaves nice painted `stitching`with good coverage and even lines. I did a few different swipes to show you that you can easily go in a straight line or a gentle arc... sharper turns are a little trickier - so go slowly.
I used this technique for the first time on the green card stock on this card, it was super fun and quick.
Thanks for visiting.
