Step fold Card - Tutorial

Hi there!

I have a new tutorial to share with you today, this one is a little no to our card maker friends.  I have seen these step cards around for a while now , but haven't made one as of yet.  so I figured it was high time I did so, and I also figured I would share it here in case you are like me and need the 'how to's' listed for you!  I found the instructions on the Splitcoast Stampers website.

You will need:

a 5.5 x 11 piece of card stock
a scoring tool of some sort
a paper trimmer
plus whatever you want to use to make it pretty!

Working along the longest length, place your cardstock into your trimmer at the 1 inch mark.  Now cut starting at 1 inch to the 6.5 inch mark.  You will end up with a slit in your card like the photo.

Repeat the last step for the opposite side of your card.

Now you will start scoring,  from the outside edge score to the newly cut slit, at 1 inch, 2 inches and 6.5 inches.

Repeat for the opposite side.
Now score between the two slits at the 5.5 inch mark (ignore my photo as I know the measurement is off!)

Now go ahead and fold along your score lines, like so.

Now you can start dressing your card.

February Colour Challenge

Hi there!

Welcome to February's colour challenge!   As usual I chose colours based on the products I played with for this month's reveal.

This way we can all have a little Valentine fun!  but, of course your entry does not need to have a Valentine theme.

All you have to do is create a new paper crafted project, of any type, that uses the colours from the challenge and post it on your blog or any other online forum  (ie. your Flickr Account) that you can link us up to, by our deadline.  Then click on the title of your blog post, copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your screen, and link it using the Inlinkz tool below below.

Please share the challenge colours on your blog (just copy and paste them) and show a link back to this site to encourage your readers to play along, as well.  You can link up your projects here for 3 weeks following the challenge and then we will choose a few lucky participants to feature on this blog.

One lucky participant will be winning a prize, drawn randomly!!  Woot Woot! It doesn't get much better than that!  Everyone is welcome to play, though there may be some shipping charges to our international winners.

The deadline for linking to this challenge is Monday, February 25th, 2013 at midnight

Thanks for visiting!

February Reveal - Love Notes

Hi there!

It is the first of the month and that means I get to share with you what I have been creating,  I received the Love Notes collection by Fancy Pants and I had so much fun with it!

I kept this page pretty simple, highlighting that great patterned paper in the background.  I stitched a large circle and added a die cut heart and then started embellishing.
The 'x and o' strip along the bottom of the page was created with my Silhouette, by yours truly!  If you want the cut file.... leave me a comment and include your email address - I am giving it away until February 7th!
This title was also cut with my Silhouette, I a loving that I can create and style of title that I want with it.  I added a little heart gem, just for fun.
This arrow is so sweet, I couldn't resist purchasing this cut file.

Next up  it this layout with a photo of my little guy hugging the life out of me ;)  I love text paper and so it's a no brainer for me to use it as a background.  Especially when you add in some mist!  I didn't realize that I accidentally misted my photo too until I uploaded these pictures... I have now changed the photo.
The paper pack has 2 great specialty papers in it, the first one is this great glittery red paper (the other one is shown on the next layout).

This page utilizes the large die cut banners that come in the kit, they are a great way to create a focal point.  The pink corrugated paper is the second specialty paper in the kit - too fun, right?
I also used my Mini 8 punch on this page, it is a great tool for creating a larger doily shape.

And just for fun I die cut  a few random shaped and patterned hearts with my Cuttlebug and strung them up in the family room - getting in the mood for Valentine's Day!

Hi all,

Welcome February, the month of love and families.  We have two posts for you today, a little later I will share with you my reveals for February, but for now let's get started with our first sketch of the month.

It is Anita's turn to create a sample for you and she has outdone herself, creating 2 gorgeous layouts to inspire you.

I love the playful journaling on this one.
And I love the stitched circled on this one.

Now it's your turn!  Play along and share it with us!

Here is a run down of the rules.  We are offering a little prize to one lucky scrapper that participates in at least 2 of this month's 4 sketches.  Just link up your creations at the bottom of each Sketch-y Friday post, all qualifying scrappers will be entered into a random draw for a prize.  Only one entry per sketch please.  You have until Wednesday February 28th at midnight to participate in any of February's sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  But remember, you must play along with 2 different sketches for a chance to win!  (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees. )
