 Dear Friends,

We are excited to be hosting crops and classes all summer long!  Some might say we even have a few new 'tricks' up our sleeve!!  We would love for you to join us on this great adventure! 

 Here is a run down of some of the events we have planned so far! (Yes, just some!)

 Come Crop with Us!

When: Saturday June 7th, 8:00am-5:00pm
Where: Salvation Army Church, 33 Diana Ave., Brantford, ON

cost of the crop is ONLY $25 + hst and includes lunch, cold beverages and a gift for each attendee!

Bring your supplies and get ready for a day of scrappy fun.

On-site store available for all your shopping needs!

Crop Class Details:

When:	Saturday June 7th, 2:00pm

Cost:	$12.75 + hst

Spaces are limited.  Register here to secure your spot. 

You do not have to attend the crop to attend the class.

ScrapMuch? is excited to be offering an all ages crop this summer where parents or grandparents can bring their kids to come craft and create with them for the day.  We will be offering a special kids class during the crop where parents will work together with their kids to help create a double page layout for only $5.00*.

ScrapPink ~ Crop For the Cure

ScrapMuch? is once again hosting our annual ScrapPink fundraiser in support of Breast Cancer Research and Awareness this September.  

Registration for our annual ScrapPink fundraiser event is now open.  We are proud to say that we raised over $1200 last year for the Canadian Cancer Society and look forward to helping raise even more this year.  

 

Please plan to join us and scrapbook for a great cause!!

When: Saturday September 13th, 8:00am-8:00pm
Where: Salvation Army Church, 33 Diana Ave., Brantford, ON

cost of the crop is ONLY $50 + hst and includes lunch, dinner, beverages, snacks and a special loot bag for each attendee!

Many prizes up for grabs and make 'n takes throughout the day. We will have a fantastic raffle table will an amazing array of prizes to be won.  All proceeds will be donated directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A new use for your border punch! - Tutorial

Hi there!

I have a punch tutorial for you today.  It's been a while since I have played with mine so I thought I would do a little something different with them,.  I will be sharing another punch technique in a couple of weeks.

Most of us have this Fiskars Treading Water punch, I think this was the first punch I ever purchased.  Anything similar with an open scallop will work just fine, though.  So go ahead and grab your punch and a scrap of cardstock.

Now punch along one edge.

And then go ahead and cut between the scallops to create these little tags like shapes.

Once you add your journalling and string them together, they will make a cute addition to your page and a fun way to incorporate your journalling onto your page.

And that's it, quick and easy!

Photo Cropping Tutorial with Tiiu

Hi there!

We have a fun change up to our tutorial today, Tiiu, one of our new DT members is sharing a fabulous tip with us!  I saw this tip on her blog and begged her for it to share with you!

Tiiu says: "For my Dolphin Swim layout that I posted  for last Friday's Sketch-y Friday reveal,  I used 3 specific sized photos because I tend to be a very precise/linear type scrapper. I'm not good at winging it for sizes, page placement, etc.  If you know me, you'll find that completely hilarious as math is not my strong suit at all! 

I want to share how I cropped the pictures to grab exactly what I wanted from the 4x6 print. I know I could edit them before printing but I'm not very diligent about that. I can't be alone on that can I? Definitely not!

Simple Stories just came out with some photo crops to do precisely that job! Well, here is my version. All you need is a little vellum
and some washi tape, it's really that simple.

 

Pardon the glare on the photo! So, I took some vellum and measured out the size I wanted my photo to be, laid it over the 4x6 and I could see exactly what part of the photo I was getting in that size, stuck it down with washi and put it through my trimmer. I've seen the Simple Stories ones used with scissors, but I'd be too afraid of the crop shifting, or not getting as straight and clean a cut as I'd like. The washi is great to use because it's not overly sticky and doesn't leave a residue behind, and I have more washi than I think I'll ever use. I hope you find this little shortcut useful for cropping your photos!"

Reverse Masking - Tutorial

Hi there!

Recently, I was chatting with Elaine and she mentioned that she wished this hexagon mask was actually in reverse, so that she could mask the outlines opposed to the actual interior of the mask.

That got me to thinking, and I came up with this technique and thought I would share.

I started out applying paint directly to my mask, for a fine mask like this one you need a fair amount of paint.

Then I flipped it over onto the paint I wanted to mask, you will need to press down carefully on the mat to make sure it is making contact with the paper.

 

This is what it will look like when you remove the mask.

I decided to use this technique recently on a layout that I created.  I painted even more paint onto my mask this time, giving me really good coverage. 

This is the layout that I made.

Using this technique, we can get twice as much use out of each of our masks!  How is that for a really economical way to add to our mask stash!
